The full artist line up for Mixtape No.7 is now in place, the show opens on Tuesday May14th at 7pm UK time. Here’s a preview just written for the Organ website….

The latest Cultivate online art Exhibition is almost upon us, the seventh in an ongoing serious of Mixtape on line group shows, the 38th online art show in all, and we must be getting near 200 Cultivate shows and events now, certainly in the late 190s. Cultivate is about both physical and online exhibitions, most of our physical shows happen in London, the most recent was the More Cake? show down by Columbia Road here in East London back in march, the next one, Switch The Other will happen in Crystal Palace at Free The Gallery this Summer.

We say “our” shows because Cultivate is partly an Organ thing and yes. our own trumpet is being blown again. Cultivate is an artist-led thing founded by artists Emma Harvey and Sean Worrall, it is a very pro-active thing. 

These Mixtape shows are very much like an old mix tape you might have made for a friend to impress them, “hey listen to all these cool pieces of music”, we’re pretty much doing the same thing in a visual way. “Hey, here’s a lot of what we think is exciting art, go explore, go cherry pick, go follow the links” – all about cross-pollination, sign posts and leaving to go find our more about the artists that caught your eye. 

We like that these shows take us beyond the often insular London art bubbles, we like that we have artists from Brazil, Yorkshire, Turkey, the United States, Wales, Spain from all over the globe as well as our London home grounds. We have 43 artists from all over the place, the full line up has just been announced, the show will open online at 7pm UK time here on the Organ website, on Tuesday 14th May and as always, once an online show has opened we see no reason to close it, all previous on line shows going back to the first one in 2017 are still open.
