Well that was a good Summer, a busy Summer, and hardly a thought for Cultivate, but now the Autumn is here and it is time for us to find our curating hats once again. We did rather enjoy the online shows of last Autumn and Spring of this year and judging from the visitor numbers and the feedback a lot of people found them rather positive. Emma and I have been busy with out own work, with Summer art events, with the priority that is our own painting, we have toyed with the idea of calling a halt to Cultivate but you are asking and the online shows do feel positive, we like the way the on line exhibitions bring artists from all over the globe together as well as viewers and collectors. and we like how they allow us to get out beyond the sometimes suffocating London art bubbles.
We’re just finishing off with the Online version of the Art Car Boot Fair that follows on from the rather triumphant live event that happened here in London last weekend – ORGAN THING: And so the 2023 Art Car Boot Fair happened, drag queens strutted, art popped, performers danced, there was posing, pop music, a piss artist and of course car boots full of art… – the online fair goes on goes on until October 1st, and well time to think about what we did this Summer… What We Did This Summer will be the first group show of the Cultivate Autumn 2023 On Line season, the exhibition will open on the evening of Tuesday 17th October, one week before the next Mixtape Group show that we’ve just put the open call details up here on the Cultivate website..
