WHAT HAPPENS TO THE CULTIVATE SPACE NEXT? AN ART CHUTE? AN ART SHOOT?

WELCOME TO THE ART CHUTE….

Well I wrote a long-ass piece about the idea of an “art chute” and how to evolve the current Cultivate space into some kind of permanent collective base where a small group of committed pro-active artists work, show and sell work together – here’s the short version.

The space Cultivate currently occupies, right smack bang in the middle of Vyner Street, has been run as a very busy full time gallery for over two years now, the course us run and the gallery closes on December 8th. We then want to evolve the room, re-invent it, use the beautifully located space in a rather different way, a creatively exciting engaging way – a freshly named art chute of an open public space, an art space that fires the imaginations of those who make art and those who engage with art.

We need another eight artists to join the two of us in this next artistic adventure. You need to be a committed artist, you ideally need to be London based, you need to be able to give time to the space and you need to be able to cover your share of the costs – an equal ten way split in terms of costs, time, commitment, decision making and everything else. We have the space, we have the attention, now all we need is the committed artists – we’re not talking full-time commitment, we’re talking ten people sharing the workload…

Interested parties should contact info@cultivatevynerstreet.com for more information. Please put “ART CHUTE” in your e.mail subject header, and we’ll send you the long-ass version.,,

Or, alternatively we give the keys back in the 9th and it becomes a storage room or an electricians work shop or a Foxton’s or something….

Thanks, Sean…

N.B. We are going to be very picky about this m we need to get the right balance in terms of art, attitude and everything else to make this work
