CULTIVATE EVOLVED: NEWSLETTER NUMBER ONE – 10th December

Those of you on the Cultivate mailing list will have had the latest newsletter arrive in your in-boxes this evening, those of you who are not on the mailing list can catch it here… We wouldn’t want you missing out now….  here it comes….

CULTIVATE HAS EVOLVED. Welcome to CULTIVATE EVOLVED.

From October 2011 until the start of December 2013, the space known as Cultivate Vyner Street was operated as a full-on artist-run challenge of a gallery. A constant never-closed run of eighty group shows, solo shows and events over a non-stop period of twenty seven very active months, we think we can feel rather pleased with what was achieved.

Cultivate Vyner Street closed last Sunday evening, this week the space is evolving…

Cultivate Evolved opens, in the same space, this week – an art space and permanent home for a fixed group of nine working artists.  

Nine artists, using the space as a permanent base to show (and sell) work, as well as to experiment, create, work,  interact and generally use the corner building in a rather different way, a refreshed way, an evolved way.

The space will still be open every week from 11.30am to 6pm Thursday until Sunday. We’ll have art filling the walls, we’ll be working, we welcome you to come and see what we’re doing, see what we’re exhibiting, come in and chat, come explore and see what the nine of us are doing.

We don’t plan a never ending parade of openings, there won’t be any more themes group shows or open  artist calls at our Vyner Street home – we did that for two and bit years and I think we all agree the time has come to refresh and evolve the space. We will operate with the same welcoming open door policy, for now you will find us via the same website, social media pages and blog

We shall introduce you to the nine artists later this week via the Cultivate blog and website, you can come in and see what we’re doing from Thursday onwards.

There will always be a tenth artist in the space, the tenth artist will be a guest, the guest artist will change every two weeks, it is important that we continue to feed new art and artists to you, important that we give artists an outlet…
