Today is mostly about pulling together the final details of the next Cultivate show. Self will open at 8pm UK on Tuesday February 23rd. I’m feeling rather excited about the art and artists in this show, we’ll announce the final list of confirmed artists on Wednesday. The Self show will be the second on-line show from Cultivate in 2021, it follows on from the rather successful ReCultivate show that opened back in early January as well as the five on-line shows that happened last year. The plan is, in view of the positive way that the on-line shows that have happened during these times of Covid have been received by both the participating artists and the viewing public, to carry on with the programme of on line shows and indeed increase them in 2021. On-line shows are never ever going to be replacement or a substitute for actual physical shows, art really needs to be viewed in the flesh, we’ve said this so many times over the last twelve months, but the on-line show have proved to be an excited addition, it has pulled together art and artists from all over the country and indeed the globe and so, even when we are back and curating physical events, the Cultivate on line shows will (hopefully) go on through 2021 and beyond, we hope to be able to do it on a monthly basis, we already have a march show called Alright? coming together and there are more things happening. Today is is mostly about the admin side of Self and the pulling together of it all
