The Alright? show has now been open on-line for just over sixteen hours, so far there has been just over 12,000 views from all over the globe, clearly on-line shows are not quite such a novelty now as they were this time last year but those are still great numbers, thanks for all the response and feedback. The show will now stay open where it is on the The Organ website while we get on with the next things and maybe take a little closer look at one or two of the participating artists. I see no reason why an on-lien show should come to an end.

If you haven’t seen the show yet, here’s the link that will take you there.

There has now been seven Cultivate on-line shows since the shock of Covid and the abrupt closing of the doors on our physical shows in March last year. Three of those shows have been in 2021, yes, we have been doing them on a monthly basis, we do hope to carry on with an online show once a month if we can, they do take up a lot of time and effort though and the reality is we don’t make any money out of on-line shows Rent and bills do have to be paid, )shame the Arts Council don’t think Cultivate is worth bothering with, we walk it far more than most of the people they do support do). The reality is most of the Cultivate shows and things are funded by the sales we make ourselves as artists and while there are no physical shows well, art doesn’t sell well when people can’t walk in to a show or see it at an exhibition or an art fair or whatever. I expect we’ll be back in a moment with plans for an April show, there are lots and lots of positives to be found in an on-line show, not least that we can invite artists from all over the land and indeed the globe, that we can reach out beyond London. And no, we point blank refuse to start charging “admin fees”and asking the artists to pay just to submit work when we have open calls, doing that cuts our so many of them, making art and showing it is fast becoming something open only for those in a privileged position, something only open to those who can afford it.

We will be back with news of the April on-line show any moment now, and possibly the May one, meanwhile can we politely point out there is a lot of freshly made art for sale via the Cultivate on-line shop, admittedly right now most of it is mine and to a lesser extent Emma’s, we’ve been slack in terms of other people’s art in shop in recent times, something we must address. And if you have enjoyed the recent on-line shows there is a donation button just down there

And if you do feel like making a small donation – We bring all this art to you for free, it does take up a lot of time, hours and hours of time. If you should feel like supporting Organ/Cultivate (for it is one in the same) by making a small donation to help keep all this flowing that would be delightful, thank you.
