This week at Cultivate then, the art re-up goes on on our corner of street, we enter the second week of the ART IS FOR LIFE, NOT JUST FOR CHRISTMAS show and our rather packed AFFORDABLE ART EVENT that features a gallery full of diverse work from about forty artists. The work on show is all available for instant sale, prices start at £5 and nothing for sale at more than £500. We have lots of paintings, prints, bombs and more at less than £100 and with 20% of money made from the sales going in to the Cultivate gallery fund-raising pot and to aid the ever ongoing battle to keep the door and the artist-run gallery alive and open.

ART IS FOR LIFE goes on then, we’re open from 11.30am until 5pm this Thursday through to Sunday with another late evening opening this Thursday 13th when you’ll find us open until 9pm (and the new head in ot a third week, the gallery is open until December 23rd). I do believe you can expect late openings from some of the galleries right by us this Thursday evening as well, open door and art to explore at Lilk, House Of Vostrovska, Wayward, Forty7 and Cultivate then. You are invited to come share a glass of wine, and explore some art… but do remember art is for life, not just for Christmas, a painting is a commitment, it needs proper light and regular dusting, it need lifetime of considered attention…

We’ve added new pieces from new artists since last week’s busy opening night, big thanks to everyone who came to the open or who came down over the weekend…
Now, as much as we need to make a sale to two to survive, and as much as our artists could do with a sale or two (paint and canvas does cost money), this is isn’t all about selling, please do just come along and enjoy the art, or maybe even pick up a piece of free art….
We’re hosting (or harvesting or herding together) another FREE ART FRIDAY at the end of this week. Once again artists are invited to bring free art to the gallery this Friday, come exchange art, come leave art, come trade art. Come pick up some free art, who knows what will happen? If the weather is good then it will be outside, if it isn’t then you’ll find it inside. You artist are invited to bring free art down on Thursday, none of it will go out until Friday though. Friday is free art day, we’ll be there from opening time until 6pm and if there’s anything left when we close then we’ll go on with the free art over the weekend, indeed feel free to bring free art over the weekend…
