CULTIVATE, always there, or over there, or at another Art Car Boot Fair event…

Culti_alwaysthereWe are. after all, always there, although we always said Cultivate was an ever evolving idea, not the name of a gallery halfway down Vyner Street. Over the next two weeks we shall be splitting our time between said art space in Vyner Street and the opening weekend of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, where we join the Art Car Boot Fair again, to take part in the Open East festival

ALWAYS THERE, an evolving nine day show at CULTIVATE, VYNER STREET

Paintings and such from EMMA HARVEY, GENEVIEVE HATTON-BROWN, JULIA MADDISON, MICHELLE MILDENHALL, 1 STOP, RUTH PHILO, SEAN WORRALL 616, TIM SKINNER, ZOE CROSSE and more as it evolves

CULTIVATE, as part of the ART CAR BOOT FAIR, at the OPEN EAST FESTIVAL

Culti_OpeneastfestWe shall be taking Cultivate to the OPEN EAST festival as part of another Art Car Boot Fair event, on Saturday and Sunday 27th and 28th July, 2013 at the opening of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, East London.

“On the first anniversary of the London 2012 Games, the north of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park opens for a packed weekend of entertainment and activity, art and food”,

Expect affordable art from some of the regular Cultivate artists.

We’ll be there alongside reggae legend U-Roy, Dead Prez, The Waterboys the Real Food Festival, The Floating Cinema, artist Jeremy Deller’s ‘Sacriledge’ (life size stonehenge bouncy castle) and lots lots more…

“Discover a world of music with a host of international acts, featuring The Waterboys, Seun Kuti & Egypt 80 with special guests Robert Glasper & Dead Prez and a supergroup of Malian artists including acclaimed duo Amadou and Mariam; while you can catch an acoustic performance or a DJ set over at the Caught by the River stage.

Meanwhile, an array of pop-up performances and participation takes place across the Park. Make sure you visit the festival theatre tent to enjoy some dance or maybe even an East End sing-a-long.

Sample the flavours of the world at the Real Food Festival, join in the ‘Bucaneers Banquet on the Bridge’ over the River Lea or simply take time out for a quiet picnic on its banks.

Young visitors will be enchanted by the legendary Travelling Art Circus presented by The House of Fairy Tales, transported by the interactive storytelling from Discover Children’s Story Centre and Charlie Dark’s hip-hop, poetry puppet adventure, and dazzled by a multitude of things to see, make and do.

Encounter Joey, from the National Theatre’s production War Horse, unearth a future masterpiece at the Art Car Boot Fair, bounce on the life-sized inflatable replica of Stonehenge by Turner Prize-winning artist Jeremy Deller, catch the afternoon’s athletics live on the big screen… There will be plenty of surprises as you explore London’s newest park, all leading to a spectacular finale by Bompas & Parr as the day draws to a close”.
