Rest In Peace Ian McKenzie Smith

a_ianCultivate is as much about the people who come in as it is the art on the walls

Really saddened to hear the news of Ian McKenzie Smith’s passing away today. Came as a shock when I heard the news a couple of days ago in the gallery.

We got to know Ian rather well over the past two years, a regular visitor to Cultivate, always full of enthusiasm and up for a positive chat about art, punk rock or Burkowski, always wanting to know about new artists or show us something he’d seen on the street or at another show, or chat about the layers of leaves growing on the Stik paintings on his garden wall.. Really sad to hear the news, we shall miss Ian coming in, rest in peace mate, it was a pleasure to know you. our thoughts are with you, your friends and family…
