Sean Worrall – “Starz- Nothing is Square” (July 2019) – Acrylic on canvas, 20cm x 20cm
We’ve been relatively quiet in terms of Cultivate activity since those shows back in April (and the Art Car Boot Fair back in June of course) but we are plotting and doing things, it isn;t so full-on these days as it was, Emma and I are busy with our own art and there’s no point in putting on shows just for the sake of putting on shows – the show has to be right, it has to be in the right space and the right time, it has to be on our terms. These are tougher times in terms of putting on artist-led shows and before anything else we have to be excited about our shows and the artists we’re working with, as well as the spaces we’re working in
We are working on a number of shows right now, “Nothing is Square” will happen in November, a group show of smaller works, square canvas works, mostly painters we would imagine, we’re staring to gather people, inviting artists that excite us and such, A room united by everyone working on the same size canvas, 20cm squares, Nothing is Square. We will be announcing full details of that one and several other things soon…
Nothing Is Square will be a carefully curated show, we are inviting artists now, it will be mostly about inviting people rather than an open call but if it does interest then send an e.mail and a link to your art website vis the gallery e.mail address – info at cultivategallery.com
